About the Free School

I am delighted to present our innovative plans for a new primary Free School serving Redbridge.

The sponsor is the E-ACT Free Schools Trust, part of the
E-ACT group, which is a highly successful education sponsor, responsible for developing and opening a range of Academies and Free Schools across England. We are building on our expertise to develop a primary Free School offering you and your children the highest possible standard of state education.

It is clear from a survey of parents we carried out a few months ago that there is a real demand for excellent primary school places and we are delighted to be able to offer your children the opportunity to attend the E-ACT Free Schools Trust Redbridge Free School. Our school will bring together the best traditional standards of excellent teaching and good behaviour, within a safe environment where young pupils can thrive and reach their true potential. This is a huge opportunity to create a school parents really want, one that fits into their busy lives. We aim to use this chance to create something special in Redbridge.

I hope you will support this exciting plan and work with us to create a thriving Free School serving communities in Redbridge.

We look forward to receiving your views on our plans.

Sir Bruce Liddington
Director General

Transforming primary learning in Redbridge

This website has been designed to provide details of a proposed new Free School in Redbridge to meet the demand for primary school places within the borough.

The proposals for the new Free School are in keeping with Redbridge Council’s commitment to provide a successful and sustainable school for the local community. The aim is to deliver a fresh approach to learning, helping to inspire young people and the local community to access and share new opportunities, achieve educational success and lead more rewarding lives.

The proposed new E-ACT Free Schools Trust 4–11 primary Free School will provide a two-form-entry co-educational primary school, with a capacity of 420 pupils. If the proposals are approved by the Department for Education (DfE) the new Free School will open with 60 pupils in Reception, plus 60 pupils in Year 1 in 2011. The Free School will develop from there to full capacity in 2016.
